Things to do with Houseguests in Western Washington

Our first houseguests of the summer arrived late last night. We are so excited to welcome the Cavanaugh family, of Fresno CA to our home! We'll be spending some time at the beach and the movies this week and just bummin' around the house pillowfighting, chasing, slip n sliding, and having a good ol' house party. After spending some time with us they will be heading up to Vancouver, BC for a day or two.

We expect our second set of houseguests next week. The Littles of Prather CA will be joining us for a fun filled week of fun too. They'll be taking a mid-week trip to Forks! and will spend the day exploring the Hoh River Rainforest as well.

We are happy to have visitors and know we will have a great two weeks with a full house. If you decide to come on over and visit us here are a few links you may find useful. This is not a complete list of things to do in Western Washington but it will get you started. See you soon!

The Olympic (Hwy 101) loop , through the Hoh River Rain Forest, past Forks (of Twilight Fame), and past lots of beautiful beaches. It will take you one long very full day to do it or you can just do a portion of it and backtrack back.

Sequim, WA, on the Olympic peninsula, is part of the loop and is a lot of fun to visit on its own. We like the Dungeness Spit and the Olympic Game Farm.

On the way home you may want to stop in at the ocean beaches in Westport or Ocean Shores. Both are great places to play. We had a lot of fun one year taking old Hwy101 all the way back to California. It is slower than I-5 but very worth it if you ever have the chance.

Mount Rainier and Mt St Helens (Gifford Pinchot National Forest) are also not to be missed great attractions for this trip or the next!!!
