You've heard the song, "Three is the magic number, oh yes it is, it's the magic number . . ."
My kids love this Jack Johnson song from the Curious George soundtrack. When it is on they dance around the house with their hands in the air singing, "Reduce, reuse, recycle. Reduce, reuse, recycle." I'm sure your's do the same.
Recycling is a big deal at our house. We recycle plastics and papers and metals and glass. We have a cardboard pile in the garage. We have two cans in our kitchen, one for garbage one for recycle. The recycle always fills up first. We even recycle our food scraps into our compost (or into our dog).
So now, what to do with those things that are not recyclable. Those things that still have life in them left to live-- just not with you. An old washer, for example, or a kids bike. Maybe fruit on your fruit trees or just a bag of kids clothes and toys that you don't want to haul over to Goodwill. Try Freecyling.
Freecycling is like Craigslist without money. Everything is free! You offer something for free and someone who wants it responds. You see something you want and you take it for free. It is a great give and take worth a few minutes of your time. So, check it out.
Reduce, Reuse, Freecycle. Reduce, Reuse, Freecycle!
